The first SUPAFRIK pop-up at Kensington Market, Toronto had a photography component in the form of the Afro-Vintage Time Machine which payed tribute to the seminal works of Malian photographers Seydou Keita and Malick Sidibe. This time around we’re bringing urban African style to the Queen West fashion district and putting you in the creative director’s seat by taking the photoshoot online!
Tune in to our twitter channel @chinedesign this Monday at 2PM EST to participate in the live photo shoot titled QueenWestaFrica. This interactive event is part of the SUPAFRIK pop-up experience at 627 Queen St West, Toronto. Designer Chinedu Ukabam of Chinedesign and stylist Desire Kaniki will have 90 minutes to brainstorm, style and photograph as many looks as they can within the allotted 90 minute time in and around the Queen West locale of the SUPAFRIK pop-up. The audience is encouraged to tweet them suggestions for the shoot, captions for the selected photographs and contribute in any way. The finished works will be displayed at the Supafrik pop-up gallery on Thursday at 627 Queen Street West. Get Involved!
